Mobile App Contact Management

Adding a contact while you're away from your computer has never been easier.

Adding Contacts

Access Contacts by tapping on Contacts in the bottom bar. 

Note: You can only add contacts individually in the mobile app. You will need to use the desktop application to mass import. 

To add a new contact in the mobile app:

1. Tap Contacts in the bottom bar.

2. Tap Add Contact

3. Enter the phone number of the contact.

4. Tap Create Contact


The new contact is now in your Contact List. Tap on the number to add contact details. This is where you can add identifying information, custom fields, and membership to any relevant groups.

 

Note: The only information you cannot edit is the contact’s phone number. Phone numbers are unique identifiers in Text Request, and cannot be changed.

Groups

Groups are a great way to organize contacts by common attributes.

To create a group in the mobile app:

1. Tap Contacts in the bottom bar.

2. Tap Groups

3. Tap Add Group.

4. Enter the name of the group. 

5. Tap Create Group.

To add a contact to a group:

1. Tap the contact you want to edit. 

2. Select Group Membership in their contact details. 

3. Tap the Add to a Group dropdown. 

4. Tap the group(s) you want to add the contact to.

5. Tap Add.

6. Tap Save to save changes.

Contact Tags

Contact Tags help you categorize contacts and give you another way to filter them. 

To create a new Contact Tag within the mobile app:

1. Tap Contacts in the bottom bar.

2. Tap Manage

3. Tap + New Contact Tag.

4. Name the tag and assign the color you want associated with it.

5. Tap Add Tag.

Add tags to contacts by selecting Contact Tags in their Contact Details.

Custom Fields

Custom Fields allow you to save general facts about your contact (like their birthday or favorite sports team) to help remember your contact in a more personalized way.

To create a new Custom Field within the mobile app:

1. Tap Contacts in the bottom bar.

2. Tap Manage

3. Select Custom Fields.

4. Tap + New Custom Field.

5. Name the field.

6. Tap Add Field.

All custom fields are available for all contacts on a dashboard in the contact’s Contact Details.

Mass Actions

Mass Actions allow you to select multiple contacts and make changes to them such as adding to a group, archiving, and suppressing among many others.

To use mass actions within the mobile app:

1. Check the box next to one of the contacts in your contact list.

2. Tap the dropdown arrow next to the deselect all box.

3. Tap Select All or tap each individual contact you want to apply the mass action to.

4. Select one of the mass actions by tapping the three options at the top or the three dots to expand the menu
