10DLC Keyword Opt-In
We created a keyword to make collecting opt-ins from your contacts quick and simple.
Per 10DLC guidelines, you are required to collect opt-ins from all of your contacts. We offer four different ways to do this, but using the premade keyword is by far the easiest option for you and your contacts.
Note: You do not need the Keywords feature on your Text Request plan to be able to use this specific keyword. All accounts have access to this keyword.
Keyword Form
When you select the keyword opt-in option, you'll need to download and complete the 10DLC Opt-in Keyword form (fillable).
You must complete all sections of the document. Leaving fields empty or providing inaccurate information will result in your registration being rejected, delaying your approval and ability to text.
The form has four fields that require information:
- Your company name
- Your Text Request phone number/dashboard
- Your use case (what your phone number/dashboard will primarily be used for)
- Account notifications, Customer care, Polling and voting, etc.
- Link to your Mobile Terms of Service and Privacy Statement

Use Case
The field under "To stay up to date with" is for your use case and must match the use case you selected earlier in your 10DLC registration. You must also give a brief explanation of how you/your company will fulfill that use case.
Example: If you selected Customer Care, enter that in the field under "To stay up to date with".
Then, provide an explanation like, "Sending appointment reminders and follow up to provide customer care and support."
To complete the opt-in process:
1. Instruct your contact to text the keyword “OPTIN” to your dashboard.
2. As soon as you receive that keyword, the contact automatically receives the following message:
”You have been successfully opted in for messages from [Company Name]. Message and data rates may apply. Reply Help for additional support. Reply STOP to unsubscribe."
There may be slight variation in the first sentence of the above message, depending on the status of the company's use case. This is done automatically and not something you need to worry about
That’s it! You’ve now fulfilled the requirements for having your contact opt in to receiving texts from you.
