Sending an Image or PDF

Enhance your text communications by attaching images, GIFs, or PDF documents to individual texts, templates, or group messages.

Note: Text Request does not currently support video attachments. 

Supported File Types and Carrier Limits

Before attaching files to your draft, review carrier file size and format requirements to ensure successful delivery.

File Parameter Platform Specifications Carrier and Delivery Behavior
Supported Formats JPG, PNG, GIF, and PDF  HEIC (Mac/iOS native photo format) and video files are not supported. 
Image Size Limits 5 MB maximum total size of all attachments Images under 1 MB deliver at full resolution. Files larger than 1 MB are compressed automatically to meet carrier limits. 
PDF Limits 1 MB maximum file size PDFs cannot be compressed automatically. Files exceeding 1 MB must be resized before uploading. 
Attachment Count 3 attachments per single message Multiple image attachments are downsized automatically so the combined size does not exceed 5 MB. 

Warning: Not all mobile carriers support PDF delivery via MMS. Canadian carriers and select US mobile carriers will block messages containing PDF attachments. If deliverability to all recipients is required, convert your document to a PNG or JPG image, or share it via a web link.  

 

Attaching Files to a Message

Include an attachment when composing an Individual Message, building a Template, or setting up a Group Message.

Path: Compose Message (or message field) > Paperclip Icon

Add Attachment

Add files to your message draft using any of the following three methods:  

  • Option A (File Browser): Select the Paperclip icon, browse your device files, select your image or PDF, and click Open.
  • Option B (Drag and Drop): Drag your file directly from your computer desktop or folder into the message composition box.
  • Option C (Copy and Paste): Copy an image to your clipboard and paste it (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V) directly into the draft box.

Tip: Want to inspect an image attachment in an ongoing conversation thread? Select the image inside the thread and click the Magnifying Glass icon or use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom in.  

 

Removing an Attachment

Remove an incorrect file preview from your draft tray before dispatching the message.

Path: Compose Message > Attachments Modal 

1. Locate the attachment preview thumbnail inside your message composition tray.

2. Click the Trash Can icon next to the file name to delete the attachment.
