Switching Voice Providers

Keep texting with Text Request regardless of your voice provider.

If you need to change your voice provider, but are worried about an interruption with your Text Request service, follow these steps:

1. Make sure we can work with your voice provider.

2. Let your provider know you use Text Request.

Check Your Voice Provider

While we can work with the majority of providers, there are a few we have trouble working with due to their inability to split voice and texting capabilities. If you're concerned about your provider, reach out to our support team for clarification.

Let Them Know

When switching to a new provider, you must tell them you use a third-party texting service called Text Request. To continue texting from your current number with Text Request, the provider must leave our profile in place.

Note: This Texting Profile/Routing is sometimes called an eSPID, SPID, or NNID.

My Provider Removed Text Request

If the provider removes our profile for their own, you will no longer be able to send or receive messages through Text Request.

Contact our support team and we’ll send your account administrator a new letter of authorization (LOA). Once it’s completed and signed, we’ll rehost the number and you’ll be back to texting in no time.
