Mobile App Basics and Messaging

Our iOS and Android mobile apps allow you to take your Text Request dashboard on the go.

Using either an iPhone or Android device, use the appropriate link below to download the Text Request mobile app:


Log in with your account info like you would on the desktop version. Once the app opens, it will ask for permission to send you notifications.

You must allow notifications to receive alerts for new messages. If you need help enabling notifications on your mobile device, see the relevant articles linked below:


Note: An active Text Request account is required to use the mobile app.


The mobile app possesses almost all of the functionality of the desktop and browser apps, except for the following: 

  • P2P Messaging
  • Reports
  • Integrations
  • Custom Merge Messages

Sending Individual Messages

To send a new individual message from the mobile app:

1. Tap + New in the bottom bar. 

2. Enter the name or number of the contact you want to text.

3. Enter the message you want to send to them.

4. Tap Send

You can also tap the Compose button found in the navigation menu to start a new message. 


Include any messaging features available on desktop, such as a signature, merge fields, or template. 

1. Tap the 3 dot icon under the message field to expand the features.

2. Tap and drag left to right to find the feature you want.

3. Tap the relevant feature icon to add it to your message.


If you want to reply to an ongoing conversation, tap the conversation block to open it and begin typing your message. 

 

Sending Group Messages

Note: The following directions only apply to group messages. You cannot send Custom Merge Messages from the mobile app.

To send a new group message from the mobile app:

1. Tap Group in the bottom bar. 

2. Tap New Group Message

3. Add the contacts or groups you wish to send the message to.

4. Check the permission and understanding boxes.

5. Tap Next

6. Enter the message you want to send, including relevant message features.

7. Tap Next

8. Review any suggestions our Spam Scanner recommends, then tap Continue.

9. Tap Send to send your group message. 


Once you send a group message, you can view its stats by tapping the Group Message Block.
