[Account Essentials](https://help.textrequest.com/basics?hsLang=en#account-essentials) # Switching to a Holding Plan ## Step away from your account temporarily while keeping your data, contacts, message history, and 10DLC registration status completely safe. ### **Holding Plan** If you need to pause your texting operations temporarily, moving your account to a Holding Plan preserves your setup so you don't have to start from scratch when you return. | **Account Feature** | **Holding Plan** | **Full Cancellation** | | --- | --- | --- | | Contacts & Message History | Saved & Protected | ❌ Permanently Deleted | | 10DLC Registration Status | Maintained | ❌ Forfeited (Requires Re-application) | | Incoming Messages | Saved in queue until reactivated | ❌ Rejected / Bounced | | Dashboard Access | Account / Billing section only | ❌ No Access |   **Note:**  While on a holding plan, you **cannot send or receive text messages**. Any messages sent to your number while on a holding plan will be saved in your queue and waiting for you when you reactivate your account.      #### **Moving to a Holding Plan** **Path: Account \> Plan** **1.** Click **Cancel account** to expand the options. **2.** Select **Move to a holding plan**.  **3.** Check the box next to the **“I understand”** statement. **4.** Click **Confirm Plan Change**. ![Confirm Plan Change](https://help.textrequest.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Help%20Center/Confirm%20Plan%20Change.gif?width=670&height=495&name=Confirm%20Plan%20Change.gif) **5.** (Optional) Set your estimated reactivation date.  **7.** Click **Confirm Plan Change** to finalize.    ### **Reactivating Your Account (Return from Holding Plan)** When you are ready to resume texting, an account administrator can reactivate your subscription at any time.  Once your account is returned to a regular plan (Basic or higher), you'll have full access to your account and can resume texting.  **Warning:** Returning to a regular plan counts as upgrading and does not change your billing cycle renewal date. You will be charged for the difference between the holding plan and the new plan you are upgrading to.
