Advanced Search

Locate specific messages, customer conversations, or historical records instantly using keywords, contact details, or custom date ranges.

Overview

While the standard inbox search bar quickly finds active contacts by name or phone number, Advanced Search searches across your entire message history. Use Advanced Search to find past text threads using:

  • Contact Details: First name, last name, or 10-digit phone number.
  • User Names: Search for texts sent by specific team members.
  • Keywords: Search for specific words or phrases within message bodies.
  • Custom Date Ranges: Cast a wide net or narrow results to a specific timeframe.

Note: By default, Advanced Search sets its date range to the last 30 days upon opening. You can adjust the start and end dates to search older records.  

 

Using Advanced Search

Search your message archives from the main messaging area of your dashboard.

Path: Messages > Advanced Search 

1. Click Advanced Search next to the search bar.

2.  Enter your search criteria into the appropriate input fields (Contact, User, Phone Number, or Keyword) .

3.  Adjust the Start Date and End Date if necessary.

4. (Optional) Select the Include archived check box to search contacts currently marked as archived.

5. Click Search.

6. Select any result block from the list to open that conversation.

Note: Clicking a search result redirects you to that contact's conversation thread, but it does not auto-scroll to the specific message matched in your search. 

 

Managing Search Fields and Results

Quickly reset your search inputs or start a new search using the reset options:

  • Clear: Wipes all entered search parameters and clears any displayed search results[cite: 15, 56].
  • Clear results: Wipes only the displayed search results, preserving your typed search criteria so you can tweak dates or keywords without starting over.
