Managing Sequences

Once you've created a sequence, you can easily manage them in the Sequence List. This includes, editing, pausing, and even deleting a sequence if needed.

Sequence States

There are five states of sequences:

  • Draft
  • Paused
  • Active
  • Ended
  • Completed

Draft

A Draft sequence has not been activated yet and will not send messages until activated. Selecting the Save Draft button while creating a sequence will mark that sequence as a Draft in the list.

You can activate a Draft by clicking the Activate Sequence button on the Confirm page of the sequence builder.

Paused

A Paused sequence is an active sequence that has been paused. Any messages scheduled to send while the sequence is paused will not be sent.

If the sequence remains paused past the time all messages were scheduled to send, the sequence will remain in the paused state indefinitely until resumed. Once resumed, it will automatically convert to Completed.

You can resume a paused sequence by clicking the Resume button.

Active

An Active sequence is a sequence that is actively running and sending messages according to the schedule you created.

You can pause an active sequence by clicking the Pause button.

Ended

An Ended sequence is a sequence that has been manually stopped before all messages in the sequence have sent. Any messages scheduled to send after a sequence is ended will not be sent.

You can end an active campaign by selecting End in the three-dot menu.

Completed

A Completed sequence is a sequence that has finished sending all scheduled messages.

Sequence List

The Sequence List is where you can view all of your sequences. You can easily edit, duplicate, or delete any sequence in the list.

Sequence Entry Example

Each sequence entry contains:

  • The name of the sequence
  • The sequence state
  • Access to sequence analytics
  • The group(s) the sequence is sending to*
  • When the next message is scheduled to send*
  • The ability to pause or resume the sequence*

*If applicable

Editing, Deleting, and Duplicating Sequences

To edit a sequence:

1. Pause the sequence if it is active.

2. Click on the name of the sequence.

2. Make any edits you need to recipients or messages.

This will permanently delete the sequence and any messages you have set up.

Only sequences that are in Draft states can be deleted.

1. Click the three-dot button next to the name of the sequence.

2. Select Duplicate.

Any sequence can be duplicated, no matter what state it's in.
